Little Common Photographic Club

MEMBERS and visitors from both Battle and Hailsham Camera Clubs enjoyed a fun evening on Monday, October 29 when they took up friendly opposition for a Match-a-Slide competition which Roy Stubbs, ARPS adjudicated.

Both November meetings featured guest speakers fIrstly a print presentation by Keith Gibson entitled "Patterson to PixeI" which contained some stunning photographs, followed a fortnight later by a slide talk "Fungi - deadly or delicious" by Colin Page from Rye Camera Club, who is not only very knowledgeable but also a superb nature photographer.

A selection of five slides from four club workers were entered in the annual Sussex Photographic Federation Slide Convention which took place at Wivelsfield Green Community Hall with judge Susan Hill FRPS, MPAGB,EFIAP on Sunday, December 2. Only 16 clubs competed as clubs now have fewer slide workers but there was still a wide variety of subjects among the excellent slides. Little Common came 13th in the positions with 80 points from a possible 100, being 17 points behind top club Eastbourne who received nearly maximum marks at 97 points. The last meeting of 2007 takes place on Monday, December 10 with our regular Christmas social to which members may bring guests for an evening of print and slide displays, quizzes and light refreshments. The fIrst meeting of the New Year on Monday, January 7 will be the second club trophy competition and members are reminded to notify selected titles to the appropriate print and slide secretaries as soon as possible after Christmas.
