Little Common WI - June 6

ON a pleasant sunny afternoon, Little Common WI met for their May meeting. President Pauline Rosner, welcomed everyone, including a number of new members, who were then introduced by name. Murmurs of "Oh I remember that" could be heard, where scrap books were displayed showing events of times gone by.

Sheila Wren gave an enthusiastic talk on her stay at the Denman College, having chosen to study calligraphy. It was a very concentrated course. After a few days, Sheila was presented with a well deserved certificate. Her final work looked most professional.

The resolutions chosen this year which will be put forward to the government are:

1. A ban on bottom trawling where it causes catastrophic loss of marine life, and 2. Inappropriate imprisonment of the severely mentally ill.

After much discussion, both were agreed.

Louise Hobson from Manor Barn WI will act as our delegate at the NF annual meeting at Liverpool in June. Bob Erends was always a popular guest with his artistic demonstrations. He will be sadly missed by all.

Next meeting, June 17 at 2pm - 'Social' beetle drive.

Visitors very welcome. Enquiries 01424 845688.
