MUSEUM: Horse-drawn lifeboat at the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum

A HORSE-DRAWN lifeboat will be one of the features of the annual Heavy Horse Spectacular which will take place at the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum.

The popular event, which is one of the biggest of its kind in the south of England, will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 4 and 5.

The historic lifeboat the Queen Victoria, which dates back to 1887, is part of celebrations to mark the 150th anniversary of the inauguration of a similar lifeboat in Selsey. The original lifeboat was delivered by train hen pulled by horses to Selsey.
