Following on from a successful tour of Europe and the UK last autumn (2014) and a high profile support slot with folk rockers The Levellers, Laura and her band will be premiering songs from forthcoming third album ‘Direction Of Travel’, the first single from which will be released in June.

A pacifist force of nature with a punk spirit and a serious work ethic, She Makes War’s mission is a peaceful but provocative one - to create breathtakingly honest music and share her art (and her heart) with the world. Her songs have been championed by the likes of BBC6 music DJs Lauren Laverne, Marc Riley and Tom Robinson as well as fellow musician Amanda Palmer.

Her inimitable brand of melancholy, grungey rock with a modern twist has been likened to Blood Red Shoes, Throwing Muses and Bon Iver. She’s previously played support slots with the likes of tUnE-yArDs, Nadine Shah, Laetitia Sadier, This Is The Kit, Suede, The Magic Numbers, Midge Ure, New Model Army, Glen Matlock and more.

Laura also puts on her own nights under the Breakfast With Apollo banner.

As The Quietus remarked after witnessing one of these gigs: “Why just sing songs, when you can build worlds?”

Fellow Bristol rockers and collaborators Forgery Lit join her as the support act for many of these dates.
