Society of Bexhill Museums

VARIED aspects of Sussex's recent but fast-disappearing heritage are the topics of Bexhill Museum's lectures in January.

On Wednesday, January 16 Hugh Miller gives an illustrated talk, A Brush With A.R.Quinton, about the way the little-known artist recorded for posterity village life, farming, crafts, hardships and pastimes during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

On the thirtieth master saddler Laurence Stevens will enlighten us about the subject of leather -making in Sussex over the years. He will bring artefacts for us to see and handle.

Lectures are held at St Augustine's Church Hall, off Cooden Drive, at 2.30 pm. Visitors are welcome and the 2 charge includes refreshments.
