The band’s first recording since their self-titled 2012 album is a five-track download. But tickets for the launch gig on Sunday, June 15 will include a free, exclusive, limited edition CD of it, not available elsewhere.
The Moors have played live in Hastings, St Leonards, Rye and Brighton over the past five years and last year headlined at Plethiad, a Balkan/klezmer festival in Brecon, Wales.
The band’s music is a unique and infectious blend of klezmer (Eastern European Jewish music), Balkan gypsy music, English folk-rock and Cuban rhythms. The Electric Palace gig will feature the full electric lineup: sax/flute/accordion, fiddle, guitar, bass guitar/vocals and two drummers, one of whom, Russell Field, produced the EP.
Meltdown contains the title track, a new song by band co-founders Elaine and Ken Edwards, and tunes from Bulgaria, Serbia and Anatolia.
Tickets are available in advance from www.electricpalacecinema.com.
