Academy helps students with special needs

Ariel Drama Academy has announced that, as of January 2014, it will be opening its East Grinstead doors at the Jubilee Community Centre to students with special needs.

Ariel Drama Academy is an independent drama academy for students aged 5 to 19 and is dedicated to training young actors in the core fundamental skills required to become a performer.

Established in 1991, Ariel has achieved acclaim and recognition within the theatre industry for its shows and professional approach to staging productions.

The academy has grown year on year and now has five locations across Mid Sussex, with more than 500 students.

Nigel Harman, star of EastEnders, Shrek, Three days of Rain and Downton Abbey is the Academy’s Patron.

He said: “The standard of Theatrical Training at Ariel is second to none, and I am honoured to be Ariel’s Patron.

Students from the Academies have received top National lifetime honours for their contribution to their communities, through their work with students with special needs.

Next year the academy has secured the rights to perform Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon.

The classes will be held on Saturdays from 1pm to 1.45pm from January 2014 at the Jubilee Community Centre, East Grinstead.
