Getting ready to bring Guys & Dolls to Hastings

Renaissance Theatre Company has been performing as a group since 2009 in memory of special friends Sandra Woodhams and Sharon Guy Waller who passed away that year. Since then the group has held two concerts at The Phoenix Venue and three musicals, and aims to continue with a production every year and to support chosen charities, St Michaels Hospice in memory of Sandra and The Shazzie Sparkle Trust in memory of Sharon. Since 2009 Renaissance Theatre Company has contributed and raised in excess of £27,189.50 for St Michael’s Hospice and hope this figure will keep going up with the support of audiences, members and friends.

In October 2012 Renaissance Theatre Company was asked to perform alongside Tom Baker (Dr who) and Paul Darrow (Blake Seven) at The Stables Theatre in an Evening of Tales of Mystery and Terror all in aid of St Michael’s Hospice. The sell-out event raised a “staggering” £13,423.

2015 brought changes for Renaissance Theatre Company - with the closure of The Phoenix Venue the group had to find a new home to perform Stephen Sondheim’s award winning musical Company, and found it fitted perfectly in St Mary in The Castle.

2016 brings much excitement as the team takes on performing the much-loved musical Guys & Dolls with classic musical numbers such as Sit Down Your Rockin The Boat and Take Back Your Mink. Performances will be at St Mary in the Castle on Thursday March 31, Friday April 1, Saturday April 2.
