New comedy night's success at Azur
The regular event is run by local man Alistair Martin who is a comedy hypnotist known as The Mind Enforcer who performs all over the country having first realised his showbiz dream when working with Jethro the notorious Cornish comedian.
Alistair is thrilled with the Azur as a place to host his comedy shows and commented: “This is a superb venue for these nights, as it is very open so the audience can see the acts well, and of course food before the show, along with the bar, makes better for the audience too.

“Our first show at Azur was with headline act Tania Edwards who has been on TV’s 8 out of 10 Cats, Stand up For The Week and has her own BBC R4 show.
“This next one is scheduled for Sunday July 3, doors open at 7pm and showtime is 8.30pm. We have some fantastic comics lined up for this one, six supporting acts from all over the UK from Scotland to Brighton. Our headline is the fantastic Craig Murray...he is a very well respected entertainer in comedy. radio, voice-overs, TV and film - probably the biggest film he was in was Driftwood, released in 2007, about eight backpackers fighting for their lives.
“Bring a wooden spoon with you and I’m sure Craig will sign it for you.

Alistair added: “What I’m trying to do is bring to Hastings some top quality comedy, but at prices everyone can afford. We’re only doing a show every other month at the moment to get a good feel for what Hastings wants, then in 2017 the plan will be to increase this to once a month and maybe even during the summer of 2017 bring in some top acts on a weekly basis for the holiday season - to see if we too can have a regular holiday showcase for our visitors, hopefully attracting more people to the town, so they can see what Hastings can offer to both locals and our visiting guests.”
