Three’s a company for arts festival

Big plans are already underway for the fifth Lindfield Arts Festival in 2014, which sees three friends teaming up to take over as festival directors.

Marian Cameron, Esther Featherstone and Lorna Falkner, inspired by their passion for the community, have chosen the theme of Quintessential Lindfield, which will focus on portraying Lindfield life by time travelling from the past through to the future. The widely anticipated programme of arts events will also move from May to September 12-14 in response to residents’ feedback.

The theme will be split over the three days with a different period of time inspiring the exhibitions and activities:

Friday will focus on life in the village over the past, Saturday on the present day life in the village and Sunday on what the future life will potentially look like.

Life in Lindfield during each time period will be explored through inspirational art and craft exhibitions, workshops and unique activities ranging from classic cars and motorbikes, musical extravaganzas, theatrical productions, sensational dance performances and more.

The directors want to create a committee to help organise the event. They are looking for someone to take on the vital role of Treasurer as well.

If you would like to get involved contact the directors via [email protected]. If you have a particular interest or skill please include this with your contact details.

Work is also underway exploring opportunities to work with exhibitors, people wishing to take workshops and performers keen to take part.
