VIDEO: Horsham father ‘thanks God’ son is alive after Porsche lands in front garden

Ethan Davis, 12, of Parsonage Road, a pupil at Forest School, was about to walk to school when an ‘airborne’ car crashed through his home’s front hedge and came to a stop metres from his front door.

He called his father, David Davis, 39, a South East Coast Ambulance Service paramedic, who was sitting in a train in King’s Cross, London, at the time, and said: “Dad, I’ve just seen a car come through our hedge.

“It was like something from a movie.”

Mr Davis called the emergency services and is ‘so grateful’ no one was injured in the incident.

The father told the County Times: “Thank God no one’s injured.

“I’m a paramedic and am so grateful that no one was injured - it could’ve caused the death of my son and his friend who were just about to walk to school.”

Ethan was looking out of the window waiting for his friend to turn up so they could walk to school together.

Mr Davis continued: “The car actually took off.

“My next door neighbour was coming up to the roundabout and had to slam it into reverse to avoid him.”

The incident also left two bollards - which belonged to a roundabout facing the house - stuck in the garden hedge.

Mr Davis has called on the county council to take ‘urgent’ action to improve road safety on Parsonage Road and across the county.

He added: “We’ve had a problem with vehicle speed in this road, every single day we hear near crashes happening on this roundabout and we want West Sussex County Council to urgently look into road safety.”

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said a man has been arrested after a Porsche crashed into the garden of a Horsham home on Wednesday morning (November 13).

The collision took place in Parsonage Road at around 7.30am.
