Mark Saunders, a member of the garden trail committee, said: “Following months of inclement weather one visitor on arriving in a garden with beautiful views was heard to announce that this was by far the best day of the year.”

The plant identification quiz held at Wyncombe Hill was won by Sean Bowyer of Little Bognor.

He took home the £200 prize money, along with three runner-ups, Chris Read, Tracey Diver and Sue Kingsley.
