Twenty-year-old Joe Hammond, from Itchenor, is the founder and managing director of Carozo, a new car auction website which promises to be 'friendlier, more exciting and less expensive'.

A former Prebendal student, Joe's entrepreneurial flair began showing when he launched his first business repairing phones before stumbling on a gap in the market when he bought his dream car.

He said: "Because I love cars, I saved up to buy my dream car, an Alpine A110, earlier this year. But the experience wasn’t as much fun as I’d hoped for and as a car enthusiast, I knew thatothers felt the same.

"So, I started researching car auctions and came up with the idea for the type of car enthusiast’s site that I’d like to have used. Carozo.com was the result."

Since he first announced Carozo.com on its Facebook Page, Joe said he had been ‘knocked out’ by the interest from fellow car enthusiasts, adding: "Interest is already really high - several hundred people have joined the mailing list and numbers are growing every day."

Joe added: "We have a hand-picked selection of cars on our site which are high quality vehicles that have been loved by their owners. The cars offer great value for money and best news of all is that you won’t have to haggle and no one will be trying to sell you unwarranted extras or some other package on top."

Enthusiasts will be able to buy and sell from the comfort of their own home, either on their laptop, tablet or smartphone.

Sellers who register with the site will be offered free professional photography because, said Joe, 'Cars which look good tend to sell faster and for better prices.’

"It’s not a forum as such but a live discussion going hand-in-hand with the car on auction, a proper enthusiast community. If it’s a 1969 Mercedes 280 up for bidding, you’d be chatting about that one; its unique points, stories, maybe your memories of owning one!

"It’s for everyone who is mad on cars, from classics to hot hatches, sports cars and those unique, one-off projects that some of us have been working on for years!’

"It will be like hanging around, talking about the merits of cars and reminiscing to other enthusiasts who love these cars as much as you do."

In addition to vehicles, Carozo.com will also offer enthusiasts the chance to buy and sell car parts and accessories.

Since he first announced Carozo.com on its Facebook Page, Joe said he had been ‘knocked out’ by the interest from fellow car enthusiasts, adding: "Interest is already really high - several hundred people have joined the mailing list and numbers are growing every day."

To celebrate its January 11 launch, Carozo.com is offering exclusive launch benefits, including money back when your car sells on the site.
