Free food up for grabs as golden monkeys hidden across Brighton amid restaurant revamp
Golden monkeys have been hidden at secret spots across Brighton, as a restaurant launches a city-wide hunt to celebrate its refurbishment.
Mowgli Street Food has put the golden figures ‘officially on the loose’ from Thursday, August 27, with clues to their whereabouts being shared online.
Anyone lucky enough to find one of the monkeys could be in for a free meal at the Brighton restaurant.
Finders are being encouraged to scan the QR code on the monkey and bring it into Mowgli in Dukes Lane to claim their prize, with terms and conditions applying.

The restaurant is also celebrating its refurbishment with a relaunch party on Thursday evening, giving invited guests an exclusive first look at its new design ahead of its public reopening on Friday, August 28.
On opening day, the first 100 guests through the doors from midday will receive a complimentary meal.
Guests visiting during the first week will also be able to take advantage of 50 per cent off food.
Mowgli Brighton is based at 2–14 Dukes Lane, in the heart of the city’s Lanes.
The restaurant describes itself as an Indian ‘home from home’, with its signature design featuring twinkling lights, trees and rope swings.
It serves Indian street food inspired by family recipes, with dishes designed around fresh herbs, spices and vibrant flavours.
The Brighton restaurant says it aims to offer a lighter alternative to traditional seaside fare, bringing its take on Indian food to the city’s Lanes.
As part of the revamped Mowgli experience, diners can expect the restaurant’s signature rope swings and vine-wrapped trees, creating what it describes as a relaxed and playful atmosphere.
The Golden Mowgli Monkey hunt is now underway, meaning Brighton residents and visitors will have to keep their eyes peeled as they explore the city.
Mowgli has told potential hunters to ‘watch closely’ as the search gets under way.
