The New Curry Centre, in London Road, earned the ‘Best Restaurant of the Year 2026 – South East Sussex’ title, at an awards ceremony in London.
The Global Power Awards were held at Meridian Grand on Monday (September 21).
The restaurant had earlier shared its excitement at being nominated.
In a social media post thanking its customers, the team said: “This nomination isn’t just about us – it’s about you.
"Our amazing customers who continue to order from us, visit us, recommend us, leave reviews and support our little family business time and time again.
“From day one, we’ve always believed in keeping things simple: great food, friendly service and making every customer feel welcome.”
The awards ceremony brought together businesses and guests from the UK and overseas, with Lord Marland (businessman and politician Jonathan Peter Marland) attending as chief guest.
The restaurant, which has been serving the community since 1968, specialises in Bengali and Indo-Bangladeshi cuisine. It has built up a loyal customer following during its long history in the town.
Announcing the nomination, the award organisers said: “For more than five decades, New Curry Centre has proudly carried a remarkable family tradition into its third generation, serving authentic Bengali and Indo-Bangladeshi cuisine with passion, consistency and dedication.
“Since 1968, the restaurant has built a strong reputation for exceptional flavours, warm hospitality and a genuine commitment to quality.
“Over the years, this dedication has earned New Curry Centre a loyal customer following, making it a much-loved dining destination within the local community.”
The organisers said the restaurant’s work had previously been recognised through local awards and accolades decided by customers.
They said this reflected the ‘trust and appreciation it has earned from generations of diners’.
The Global Power Awards UK described the business as having a ‘heritage built on passion’, a ‘reputation earned through generations’ and a ‘taste loved by thousands’.
The organisers said: “The nomination celebrates not only the restaurant’s culinary excellence, but also its contribution to preserving and sharing the rich traditions of Bengali and Indo-Bangladeshi cuisine in the UK.
“We are proud to recognise New Curry Centre among the outstanding businesses and individuals being celebrated at the Global Power Awards UK 2026.”
According to its website, The New Curry Centre is ‘striving to be the best Indian restaurant in Horsham’.

The restaurant said it uses fresh ingredients and guarantees low-fat cooking with ‘no artificial colouring’.
