Jobs in the balance as Horsham venue ‘severely affected’ by pandemic

Horsham District Council said it is currently consulting on the options available to it regarding staff at The Capitol after the venue was hit hard by lockdown restrictions.
A spokeswoman said: “Like many other councils, we are responding to the changed circumstances and loss of revenue resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hide Ad“We are experiencing unforeseen but necessary expenditure and reduced income from fees and charges.
“The pandemic has caused disruption to many of our services and The Capitol, a business that relies on income from ticket sales, has been severely affected.”
The council said it is working to keep the venue.
The spokeswoman added: “The Capitol is a much-loved cultural asset and we are doing everything we can to retain our multi-purpose arts venue for the enjoyment of Horsham’s residents and visitors.”
