Littlehampton restaurant announces its closure – just five months after opening

A restaurant in Littlehampton town centre has revealed the sad news it has permanently closed.

Elia, a Mediterranean restaurant and bar in High Street, posted to its Facebook page this afternoon to let its customers know the sad news.

The restaurant, run by husband-and-wife team Paulo and Angela, had only opened in May. The building had previously housed several other restaurants in recent years, and was a Natwest bank before that.

The Elia Facebook post read: “Dear customers and friends,

“It is with sadness that we announce that ELIA Restaurant has permanently closed its doors.

“We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, your trust and every visit. It was a pleasure to serve you and share so many lovely moments around the table.

“A special thank you to our team for their hard work and dedication.

“Thank you for being part of ELIA.”

Sussex World contacted Elia for further comment about the decision, but has not yet received a reply.

On its Facebook page, Elia said it offered ‘authentic Greek & Italian cuisine with a modern touch, in the heart of Littlehampton’.
