Katherine and her family enjoyed a game of bowling at Hollywood Bowl in Worthing

My family had such fun bowling in Sussex - it was the perfect winter activity

I’m sure you’ve noticed, but it’s been freezing outside.

So standing in the park while my kids play is not the dream while the weather is treating us to an Arctic blast.

An indoor activity like bowling, however, is perfect for entertaining the family when you don’t fancy being outdoors.

My family were invited down to Hollywood Bowl in Worthing last week, to play a quick game together.

Located under the Grafton multi-storey car park in Marine Parade, Hollywood Bowl offers state-of-the-art booking systems, a premium American diners, licensed bars, and exclusive pre-bookable VIP lanes.

It was lovely and warm in there, and after a quick check-in, we were given a lane. Just type your names in, and you’re good to go.

I love that you can select which bowlers want bumpers, so my children could use them and have a fair chance of beating their parents, who did not have them.

That being said, I’m pretty competitive, and thankfully bagged a score of 100 to win the round. That being said, we all played well and everyone had fun.

The game took about 30 minutes, and afterwards the kids had a go on a couple of the many arcade games.

There’s also an American diner on site, with a bar, and pay-to-play pool tables available.

For those wanting a more exclusive experience, you can also book VIP lanes which give you comfy seats, private bowling, and funky coloured pins.

It was a great family experience, and we’ll definitely be back soon.
