New executive chef appointed at luxury Sussex hotel Gravetye Manor

Former Roux scholar Martin Carabott has been appointed new executive chef at luxury Sussex countryside hotel Gravetye Manor.

Originally from Malta, Martin honed his skills in some of the world’s finest restaurants including the three Michelin-starred Eleven Madison Park in New York. He has a wealth of experience and most recently led the kitchen at Luca in London.

Martin will work closely with Gravetye head gardener Tom Coward to create seasonal dishes inspired by produce grown in the hotel’s famed 35-acre gardens –enhancing Gravetye’s proud tradition of Michelin-starred dining.

Hotel general manager Paul Skinner said: "I am delighted that Martin Carabott will be joining the team. His talent and passion will ensure that Gravetye Manor continues to offer outstanding fine dining, celebrating the freshest ingredients from our kitchen garden."

Martin himself added: "It is an honour to be joining Gravetye Manor, a place renowned for its world-class food and hospitality. I look forward to bringing my culinary vision to life and creating memorable dining experiences for our guests."

One night dinner, bed and breakfast is from £683 per room per night. It includes a sumptuous three-course dinner for two and full English breakfast.

Optional garden tours at £25 per person are available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Gravetye Manor is situated in Vowels Lane, West Hoathly.
