New UV cocktail bar and two new mini golf courses as glow-in-the-dark venue expands

Globalls, the glow in the dark crazy golf course at Brighton Marina, is moving to a bigger venue.

Taking over the former Jimmy's buffet restaurant just a few units along at the marina, Globalls is adding two new golf courses, two new game experiences and introducing a UV cocktail bar into the mix.

Owners Patrick and Julie Cosgrove have been planning the expansion for the last couple of years but with the venue closed for the last 12 months due to the lockdown, work has not progressed as quickly as they had hoped. But with lockdown easing and the existing Globalls venue able to reopen, it's full steam ahead.

Julie said: “Patrick and I are really excited to see the project come together, it has been a really long time in preparation. The new UV game rooms in particular are a one-of-a-kind experience which has never been done before in the UK, so we can’t wait to share this fresh new idea with our customers.”

Manager Cristina Marinache explained the new Globalls will be much more spacious and will include two new mini golf courses – one jurassic themed, featuring glow in the dark prehistoric creatures and aquatica; including sharks, fish and under-the-sea murals – plus two new game experiences.

It is hoped the bar area will help to add a new 'evening entertainment element' to Globalls, said Cristina.

She added: "At the brand new UV cocktail bar we will be serving a large array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for customers to enjoy before, after or even during their games! The bar and sitting area will all be under UV and be sure to expect even more eye-popping colours throughout."

The game experiences have allowed owner Patrick to express his artistic streak with paradise games, including a series of jungle themed challenges and carnival games, which will include carnival themed stations.

Cristina said: "Think carnival favourites such as hook a duck, pig racing and buzz-wire but completely rethought and redesigned to Globalls standards of crazy fun."

Although an opening date has yet to be confirmed, Cristina said it was hoped to be this summer and nearer the time the company would be hiring more customer hosts and experienced mixologists for the bar.

Before then, there is still a lot to do.

Cristina said: "There is a huge amount of work being put in to open the new place. From demolishing walls and rebuilding them, to designing each hole/game station for the mini golf and game experiences, to painting all of the new models and wall art in UV paint.
