Plans for new sauna on West Sussex farmland

Plans have been drawn up to site a new sauna on farmland in a West Sussex village.

A planning application has been lodged with Horsham District Council to build the sauna at a farm in Park Lane, Ashington.

The farm owners say that it is planned to used the sauna in connection with a holiday glamping pod on the site.

Planning permission was granted in 2021 for three glamping pod holiday lets at the farm but only one pod – in the shape of an A-frame cabin – is currently there.

The sauna is planned to be built in a similar style to the triangular holiday pod.

Agents for the applicant, in a statement to the council, say that the sauna “would be in keeping with the ethos of the visitor accommodation aimed at those wishing for an off-grid stay from which to explore the outdoors, something particularly pertinent given the close proximity to the National Park.”
