A shop that had only been open in the town centre for three years has closed down.

Roly’s Fudge Pantry in Montague Street closed for good this month (March, 2025), with no plans to reopen in our town. The business had opened at the end of 2021 in the space previously occupied by Thorntons.

A spokesman for Roly’s said: “We are saddened to announce the closure of Roly's Fudge Pantry in Worthing. We are very grateful for the support and loyalty of the local community over the years.

“We have no immediate plans to reopen in Worthing. The owners of this pantry look for new locations but in the meantime continue to run their fudge pantries in nearby Arundel in West Sussex and further afield in Lymington and Lyndhurst.”

According to the Roly’s website, the brand originated in Devon over 35 years ago, and now has 47 independently-run family fudge pantries across the UK. Each shop uses traditional recipes to make fresh fudge every day, handmade in full view for customers to see.

It has three other shops in Sussex, in Arundel, Brighton and Hastings.
