In 1982, Douglas and Julie Cowpland bought the PowderMills as an eight-bedroom derelict house.
Over the last 40 years since its purchase, the property has been transformed into a 48-bedroomed hotel, alongside the Orangery Restaurant and two large function rooms.
James Greenslade, director, hotel capital markets, Savills, said: “We are delighted to have assisted our client in disposing of this asset following a confidential marketing process.
“PowderMills sits in an enviable location, easily accessible from central London and with significant asset management opportunities for the incoming purchaser.”
