Mrs Stephanie Burford-Pugh formally opens new Horsham Charity Superstore

Hundreds of bargain hunters support Horsham charity superstore launch

On 21st February the Camelia Botnar Foundation launched their new Charity Superstore. Charity Trustees, including Mrs Stephanie Burford-Pugh, attended the grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Mrs Burford-Pugh said “It’s amazing to see so many people coming here to support us and I am so thankful to everyone that has supported our work”.

In just 16 months of operation the previous charity store, located within the Camelia Botnar Garden Centre Littleworth Lane Horsham RH13 8NA, had proved extremely popular with Horsham residents so for 2026 they decided to expand. The charity superstore now occupies 11,000 square feet with lots of good quality items for sale at reasonable prices. This makes it the largest charity shop in the Horsham area.

Within the store customers will find a huge selection of men’s, childrens, and women’s clothing; a section for children’s toys, puzzles and Bric-a-Brac; they also have a section for music with CDs and vinyls and a newly fitted area setup in a library format where you can look through a vast selection of categorised books.

The proceeds of the new Superstore will support the Horsham based Camelia Botnar Foundation which has been training disadvantaged young people for over 40 years. They receive work experience and training in practical skills including carpentry, building maintenance, catering, estate maintenance, welding & fabrication, painting & decorating, motor mechanics and of course horticulture. In 2025 a record number left their courses for employment.

Retail Director, David Anderson said “We have put a lot of effort into giving our Charity Superstore a fresh new look and our young trainees have helped by building and painting some of our new display units. We are confident that our customers will love exploring the shop and then moving on to buying some of our competitively priced plants and a maybe having a coffee and cake in our Coffee Shop.

The Foundation’s Chief Executive, Paul Yallop said “We have been overwhelmed by the public support for our Charity Shop. I feel its unique location with easy parking and donation drop off have been major factors in its success. I am grateful to our hard-working team of staff including 9 voluntary workers. New volunteers are of course always welcome to help with our work. If you are planning a Spring clear out at home, please remember we accept good quality saleable items.”.
