Metro Bank makes its mark with new '˜store' in Brighton

Metro Bank, the rapidly-expanding bank, will open its 33rd "store" today (Friday).

Metro Bank, the rapidly-expanding bank characterised by its innovative approach to banking, will open its 33rd "store" today (Friday).

To mark the opening - at 82 North Street - there will be two days of celebrations, including stilt-walkers, face-painting, performing dogs, and live music. In charge will be Brian Quinton, the local director, and Nick Simon, the store manager.

Metro Bank says it is committed to providing customers with "amazing service and convenience through every banking channel". Unlike other banks, Metro Bank - which was founded in 2010 - provides instant printing and replacements for lost or stolen debit cards, free coin counting for customers and non-customers the bank's "Magic Money Machines", and safe deposit boxes.

Councillor Jason Kitcat, leader of Brighton and Hove City Council, welcomed the addition to the city centre. He said: "I am delighted to welcome Metro Bank, a brand new bank, to this high-profile location in Brighton. This opening has been highly anticipated by the local community. I very much welcome the new services and jobs Metro Bank will be bringing to Brighton."

The bank uses the most advanced technology to support customers through whichever channel they choose to use for their banking.

Customers can choose to bank face-to-face in store, can call a 24 hour local contact centre staffed by people not machines, bank online, or through an innovative personal mobile app. Its pioneering approach has resulted in the revolutionary bank being awarded the Technology Innovation Award by Microsoft as part of the Microsoft Dynamics Customer Excellence Awards Programme.

All Metro Bank stores are open at the most convenient times for individuals and businesses: 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday; 8am to 6pm, Saturday; and 11am to 5pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
