In late October, the former Thomas Cook branch in East Street was reopened to the public under new ownership and all staff members were ‘offered their positions back’, after Hays Travel bought 404 of the company’s collapsed network of shops.

Despite also having a shop in South Street, both sites remained open for four months but signs appeared on the window of the East Street branch this week, announcing its closure.
