Phone company makes village donations

A MOBILE phone and internet provider has not only put money towards community projects but also aims to bring better broadband services to the South Downs.

Company TalkTalk has already donated over £1000 to local community projects.

A £700 donation was given to Pulborough village to go towards the tree, lights, lanterns and decorations as part of their ‘Led by a star’ procession on Friday December 16.

Earlier this month Henfield Leisure Centre received £500 funding, which was used to buy new equipment for children’s activities.

Tristia Clarke, commercial director at TalkTalk, said: “Investing in the local area allows us to bring our great value offers to even more families in Henfield and we are proud to be supporting Henfield Leisure Centre.

“They are in the heart of the community and we are delighted our donation will go towards new equipment”.

As part of its plans to expand its Next Generation Network TalkTalk is investing £50,000 in technology to bring the best value broadband offers to Henfield and the surrounding areas.

A spokesperson for the company said: “By unbundling more exchanges across the UK and expanding our network it allows us to offer better value broadband services to more of the UK.”

The new network will cover Henfield, Small Dole, Woodmancote and Blackstone.
