Plans for new Chinese takeaway in Midhurst

According to the applicant, the change of use of the vacant building at 14 North Street will ‘benefit the local economy’ and provide the town a ‘family-friendly business and food option’.

In the planning documents (SDNP/20/01717/FUL), Kwok Ho Kan wrote: “The asset is located on North Street, in the historic market town of Midhurst. We are proposing to convert an unoccupied bakery into a Chinese takeaway. We aim to disrupt the heritage and appearance and characteristics of the asset as little as possible.

“Changes to the exterior of the building include painting the shop front wooden frames, the existing colour is black and we propose to change the colour to dark green.”

A decision must be made by South Downs National Park Planning Authority by August 25.
