Sussex entrepreneur shares stage with 
Apple co-founder

The Managing Director of a Sussex customer feedback service shared the stage with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak at a conference for entrepreneurs.

Shopper Anonymous founder Jonathan Winchester addressed a 1,500-strong audience at the International Convention Centre alongside the billionaire inventor.

Jonathan, who started his career on a management training programme at Harrods, passed on customer service insights based on the 298,000 mystery shops his company has conducted over the past 19 years.

His tips on delivering first-class service, developing a customer-focused team, creating a positive first impression and best practice in obtaining feedback, won praise from the audience.

“It was a great experience to have been invited to speak at such a prestigious event,” said Jonathan. “Both Steve and I really got the message across that to develop a great business you have to deliver great service.

“Steve is possibly one of the most influential individuals of our generation and he spoke so humbly about his story and how he developed the Apple brand with Steve Jobs. To then spend some time with Steve was one of my Bucket List moments.”

Jonathan was delighted with the response and is planning a similar event in Sussex for SMEs.

“We like to measure the impact of our presentations and clearly this one hit the mark,” he added. “We are considering holding a more local event as result of the feedback we have received to help local SMEs to really make a difference.”

Shopper Anonymous, based in St Leonards, is a franchise that operates across the UK with 16 Regional Directors, giving its 700 clients expert local support to improve their customer service.

Jonathan set up his Sussex business in 2006 after several years living in Australia where he built one of the biggest customer service feedback companies within Australia and New Zealand.
