A young and highly talented entrepreneur has launched a new recording and production studio in Chichester with the support of the district council and a host of industry experts.
Cadyn Lewis unveiled Studio Inconclusive at a ceremony at its new home at the Chichester Enterprise Centre on Terminus Road.

In my capacity as High Sheriff of West Sussex I was delighted to be asked to cut the ribbon. Encouraging enterprise and economic growth and showing how a new generation of entrepreneurs can bring purpose and pride to their communities as well as to their own lives is an important aspect of my role.
Cadyn has already shown enormous drive. He is Director not just of the new studio but Roster Royalties, OI Publishing, and DiscoverNü (DNÜ).
Surrounded by family, friends, and those who had both encouraged him and helped build the studio, Cadyn explained the new venture to me.
"It gives the artists we work with through Origins Inconclusive a physical base, alongside my own production and songwriting work as KDYN. Other musicians can also book the studio for their own projects."
So why did he start the studio?
"I needed somewhere to carry on making music so building a studio gave me the opportunity to give the artists I work with through Origins Inconclusive a proper space too.
"It’s a substantial investment for me. So much of the work I do involves spending time with artists and collaborating on their music. Having my own space to do that is a big step.”
He thanked those who had helped him put the room together.
“So many people have really helped me along the way. Ben Crispin from Chichester District Council recommended us Basepoint as the best location. Alex from Synthax came down so we could listen to speakers in the room before I chose them, and the team at Sontronics helped me work through which microphone was the most versatile for recording.
"Rob Walker and his team provided us a very quick turnaround fitting out the space and ensuring the Studio was soundproof. Nick Williams and the team at Native Instruments provided us access to their fantastic plugin collection. Prism Sound and the team helped us choose their Atlas as our main recording interface.
“I’m grateful to them for the conversations we've had and for supporting my work.”
Opening it up locally was important to Cadyn. He lives just down the road.
“I wanted somewhere people could feel at home making music. There’s a piano, synths and instruments to try, and I’d love people to come in and find something that takes a song in a direction they hadn’t expected.
“It was important to me that the studio could be used by people outside our own projects too. You don’t have to be an Origins Inconclusive artist to book a session. Culture and creativity mean a lot to me, and I’m proud to be able to offer other musicians somewhere here in Chichester to make their music.”
"I’d also like to thank everyone who came along to the opening. It meant a lot to have people there after all the work that’s gone into getting it ready."
It's very price competitive which also makes it very accessible to people of all ages wanting to record and produce their music.
