During a public consultation, Post Office officials received a number of comments from customers, mainly focusing on the location of the proposed new site, which was said to be too far away from the village centre, with limited parking.

Pulborough Post Office closed temporarily last August because the Postmaster resigned and the premises were withdrawn for Post Office use. Local businesses were then approached and the vacancy was advertised, however, the garage, was the only successful applicant.

Before the new branch opens, the new operator has agreed to provide a designated walkway, clearly marked out from the pavement to the shop across the forecourt. In addition, an extension will be added to the shop to accommodate the Post Office and a dedicated disabled parking space will be provided.
