Arun District Council is delighted to confirm the appointment of Neilcott Construction (Neilcott) to progress the detailed design for the rejuvenated Alexandra Theatre in the Regis Centre, with construction work expected to start later in 2024.

The council conducted a comprehensive tender process to select the best partner to deliver the next stage of this exciting project, which will see the £12.19million of Levelling Up funding awarded to the council used to rejuvenate the Alexandra Theatre.

Neilcott has an excellent reputation and track record in delivering regeneration construction projects and the council is already working in partnership with them on the Littlehampton Seafront Project.

“This is the first of a range of projects that will transform Bognor Regis town centre over the next few years, creating fantastic new places and facilities for our residents and visitors alike. We look forward to welcoming audiences to our new theatre, hopefully by the end of next year.”

John Papworth, Regional Director of Neilcott Construction, said: “We are proud to have been selected by Arun District Council to support them on another of their leisure projects in the district. We look forward to finalising the detailed design of the new theatre so that construction can progress in the coming months.”

The council’s regeneration team and Neilcott are now working closely to finalise the detailed design plans. Further information on scheme construction, including final dates and other details, will be announced in due course, but the broad timelines are as follows:
