Charity football tournament for Brighton Sea Cadets cancelled
A charity football tournament being arranged for this summer to raise vital funds for Brighton Sea Cadets has had to be cancelled due to lack of interest.
Unit fundraising officer Rob Wallace said that despite sending over 50 letters and emails to various companies across Brighton and Hove he had received responses from only 2 companies willing to enter teams and one company that agreed to provide support services.
Rob went on to state that he was struggling to confirm a venue due to costs of private facilities and no response over a period of four months from BHCC sports facilities department.
Rob would like to thank Caffryn Audi and Tates Peugeot / Kia for agreeing to provide teams and Gary Smith from The Brighton Mobile Massage Company for offering to provide services at the event. In addition Gary had offered a donation of 20% of all sales on the day.
