Eastbourne Silver Band - supporting communities near and far
Formed in 1950 the Eastbourne Silver Band has this year been celebrating its 75th anniversary milestone, marking its diamond anniversary, not just with its music but also with its support to community and international charity work.
Amongst the organisations that the band has championed their support towards is the families and children affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine through the work of Brass Band Aid for Ukraine.
A regular cornerstone of its fund-raising efforts is its annual Remembrance concert, with part of the voluntary donations made during the event being shared with Brass Band Aid UK for Ukraine, who are delivering humanitarian aid directly to the civilian population in the war-torn regions of the country.
Band members also made personal donations of essential supplies for the Ukrainian population.
Our photographs show some of the donated gifts being prepared for transport to Ukraine by road and some of the orphans receiving their presents from Father Christmas.
