Hastings care home hits the right note with music activity

Mountside Care Home in Hastings was filled with joy this week as residents welcomed back Crystal and a group of local mums and their babies for a heartwarming intergenerational music session.
The popular activity brought smiles, songs and plenty of gentle interaction as residents joined in with nursery rhymes and musical play. The presence of young children created a warm, uplifting atmosphere, with many residents expressing how much the visits brighten their day.
Activity Coordinator, Kimberley said: “These visits mean so much to our residents. They bring energy, laughter and companionship, and they remind everyone that our home is very much part of the Hastings community.”
The mums who attend say they benefit just as much, enjoying the chance to meet others, socialise in a relaxed setting, and share meaningful moments with residents. The babies, meanwhile, visibly enjoy the attention and interaction from their older friends.
Intergenerational activities like this are becoming a much-loved feature at Mountside Care Home offering wellbeing benefits for both young and old while strengthening community ties. The team look forward to welcoming the group back for more music, memories and connection in the weeks ahead.
