The free event on the last Saturday in October - the traditional Sussex bonfire (with torchlight parade and fireworks) is all organised by a very small group of volunteers aided and abetted by a team of volunteers.
Costs increase annually and are well in excess of £30,000. This money is raised by fundraising events, by sponsorship, by the Just Giving appeal (see website) and by the street collection on the night.
This year the street collectors raised more than £6,500.
Bonfire spokesperson Susan Baker said: "Thank you to every single one of them - it all helps! And, of course - thank you too, if you put some pounds or even pennies into one of our buckets!"
Prizes were awarded to:
Solo collectors: 1st place Beverley Sorrell. 2nd place Di Brown. 3rd place Paul Howard
Pub challenge: 1st New Inn. 2nd The Bear
Group Collectors: 1st RNLI & the coastguard. 2nd Littlehampton Musical Comedy Society (LMCS). 3rd Badminton Sports
Susan added: "These groups and individuals collected the bulk of the street collection on the night, so a very special thank you goes to them! But all help is very much appreciated! Every penny adds up!
"If you would like to make a donation towards funding next year's event, please see our Just Giving appeal on: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/littlehampton-bonfire-society?utm_medium=CF&utm_source=CL"
