Eddie D'Ovidio's Walking Challenge

Seven-year-old from Midhurst walking for whales

Eddie D'Ovidio, 7, lives in Midhurst, goes to school in Graffham and since he was just a toddler he has absolutely adored whales, and sea life in general. He worries about all the issues facing whales, including plastic pollution and ghost nets, and wanted to do something to help. So, Eddie's Walking Challenge was born!

Over 40 days across the summer holidays, Eddie is walking a massive 155 miles (that’s 455,000 steps!) which is the same distance as walking from his home in Midhurst, West Sussex to Europe’s biggest aquarium, Nausicaá Centre National De La Mer, in Northern France.

He has already taken a massive 300,000 steps! His walk has so far has taken him to places including Midhurst, Petersfield, Bosham and Chichester to Brighton, Alfriston, London and all the way to North Devon.

His parents, Rob and Jaime, have been blown away by his commitment and passion, and are literally with him every step of the way!

Eddie had a goal of raising £1000 for Whale & Dolphin Conservation, and every penny would make all the difference to this charity. So far, he has raised £785 - and has already been supported by lots of local businesses in Midhurst.

Could you help by sponsoring whatever you can to Eddie's Walking Challengeto help him reach his fundraising goal to help our oceans and the whales that live in them.
