A-LEVEL RESULTS: 98 per cent pass rate at Steyning Grammar School

ANOTHER set of outstanding exam results was celebrated at Steyning Grammar School today (Thursday, August 16) with a 98 per cent pass rate.

The school’s sixth-form college entered 218 candidates at A-Level with 24 per cent of all entries achieving an A* or A grade.

In 26 subjects the college achieved a 100 per cent pass rate and the overall 98 per cent rate was just one per cent lower than last year’s results.

One of the highest achievers was Jonathan Dungay who obtained four A* grades and will now progress to Trinity College, Cambridge, to read mathematics.

Jonathan was modest about his achievement saying he was “quite happy” with his results.

Other high achievers included Ethan Moss, Holly Ravenhall, George Hall and Jack Hasler.

Head teacher Chris Taylor said: “We are immensely proud of our highly motivated young people as we celebrate outstanding sixth form college results.

“This has not been achieved through chance but through the hard work and dedication of our students, the support of their parents and the commitment of our staff.”
