Anna Wells, deputy headteacher at Nyewood, said the children took part “with great motivation and enthusiasm”. She added: “The sight of 258 children undertaking such an event was truly fantastic!”

The children started training before Luke’s visit, as well as collecting sponsorship for the Olympic-sized challenge. They raised a total of £2,600.

Ms Wells said: “Everyone in the school was thoroughly inspired by this exceptional experience and, although absolutely exhausted, were left with memories they will never forget.”
