Eastergate pupils support Sussex Air Ambulance

ONE school in Eastergate got on down and funky with their footwear to raise funds for Sussex Air Ambulance.

Pupils at Eastergate CofE Primary School dressed their shoes in a wide range of crazy and wacky styles for the charity, as part of Funky Footwear day.

More than £100 was raised from the event.

Deputy head teacher Graham Oakford said: “Some wore stripey socks, dressed up their shoes.

“We’ve done the Funky Footwear day in previous years and Sussex Air Ambulance is a valuable charity to raise money for.

“It was fun. Some pupils wore different trousers as well.

“One pupil decorated their shoes with pompoms to look like clown’s shoes and another had a spider theme.

“Another wrapped their footwear in foil to make astronaut boots.”

The school at Church Lane has raised money for several charities in the past by taking part in Funky Footwear day.
