Goring school's spadework pays off with grant

THE outside grounds at Goring CE First School are now greener than ever thanks to the introduction of new trees.

The school, in Mulberry Lane, planted five new trees last week after receiving a 200 grant from the International Tree Foundation.

Michael Tanner, from the Sussex branch of the foundation, was instrumental in getting the grant for the school.

He was there for the tree planting ceremony, along with year three students, Ellie Rayment and Jake Perkins; Shirley Morrell, a school governor; and Carolyn Cruz, the deputy head.

Mrs Cruz said: "This is only the beginning for us in developing the grounds and we have drawn up an action plan."
