Over the Rainbow Playschool, in Holbrook School Lane, was visited by inspector Jill Steer on June 5, its first inspection in more than five years.

Ms Steer’s findings were published on June 26.

She praised the “consistently high quality of teaching” and the way the children were “happy and confident”.

She raised one point for future improvement, the need to extend children’s mathematical learning by teaching them about measuring. As an example, she said the youngsters should have been asked to measure how far their puddle splashes went.
