Littlehampton’s young racers are ready to take to the track

PRIMARY school speed demons from Littlehampton are readying themselves for a race around an iconic motor racing course.

Following hot on the heels of the Festival of Speed, pupils from the River Beach Primary School will be hoping to take the chequered flag when they zoom around the Goodwood Motor Circuit later this month.

The Year-six team will be one of 90 schools from across the country taking part in the annual Greenpower Gathering of Goblins.

The event is a chance for young engineers to race their homemade electric cars which their have spent tireless hours tuning at their school. The team of 12 children will be racing on Sunday, July 13.

Teacher Ben Case, who is leading the team, said: “The children have worked really hard on making sure that this year, we have a reliable car that looks great, whatever the weather. They are all looking forward to once again driving at such an historic venue.”
