Pictures: Olympian effort at school sports day

A Crawley school began its sports day by releasing dozens of balloons and ended it with a tug-of-war.

Children from Our Lady Queen of Heaven Primary, in Langley Green, were put through their paces while cheered on by parents, carers and governors.

Headteacher Tobias Melia said: “Once again we’ve enjoyed a wonderful day of sporting activity and excellence.

“My thanks go to our premises manager, Paul Guttridge, our PE leader, Ann Westgate and the OLQOH Friends of School for their hard work throughout the day.

“Well done, too, to all of the children, especially the members of Benedictine House (Reds), who have triumphed for the second year running.”
