On Friday (November 6), parents were informed that a member of staff at Ark Alexandra Academy had tested positive for Covid-19 11 days previously, on October 26.

Mr Collins said the member of staff had felt unwell on October 24 but offered no explanation as to why parents were not informed until 11 days later.

In his letter, the principal said the member of staff’s ten-day isolation period ended on November 3 and they returned to the school on November 4.

The school has been approached for comment.
