TEACHER STRIKES: School closures in the Horsham district

15 schools in the Horsham district have so far confirmed disruption due to teachers’ strike action on Thursday (October 17).

Two Horsham schools are the latest to be affected by the strikes.

St Mary’s Church of England Primary School will be closed for pupils in reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 6.

At North Heath Community Primary School all classes are closed except for the following: reception Apple Class, Year 1 Oak, Chestnut, Year 3 Hazel, Year 4 Lime, Year 5 Rowan and Year 6 Whitebeam.

The County Times previously reported that 13 other schools in the Horsham district are facing disruption due to teachers’ strike action.

The other affected schools are: Upper Beeding Primary School, Itchingfield Primary School, Steyning Grammar School, the Weald School, Leechpool Primary School, Holbrook Primary School, Loxwood Primary School, Wisborough Green Primary School, West Chiltington Community School, the Forest School, Kingslea Primary School, Shelley Primary School and Billingshurst Primary School.

Thousands of pupils in the Horsham district will not be able to attend school on Thursday.
