Bluecoats Sports Health and Fitness Club, located in Christ’s Hospital, could start hosting vaccinations as early as tomorrow (December 14).
In an email to its members, the club said it was ‘thrilled’ to be part of the national vaccination programme.
“The pandemic has threatened the health of every one of us and led to huge disruption in everyday life,” the email said.
“The vaccination programme provides us all with hope that in the foreseeable future everyday living will return to something close to normal.
“Bluecoat Sports is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of its members, staff and the CH pupils. Becoming a Covid-19 Vaccination Hub will help us to support the NHS and to provide further health benefits to the local residents.
“It will also speed up the process of getting more of our great facilities open and being used by as many people as possible.”
A vaccine developed by pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and BioNTech is being rolled out after the UK became the first country in the world to grant approval.
