Latest number of coronavirus cases in Rother

Rother has recorded just 12 new cases of coronavirus in the past three and a half weeks.

According to the latest figures from Public Health England, 188 people in Rother had tested positive for Covid-19 by 4pm on Sunday (July 26).

The rate of infection in the district is 196.5 per 100,000 people – the seventh-lowest rate in England.

On July 2, the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Rother rose by 67 to 176 after figures from pillar 2 – data from tests carried out at home or at drive-through centres – were added for the first time.

In the 24 days since, Rother has recorded 12 new cases of the virus, figures show.

In Hastings, 132 people have tested positive for Covid-19.

In East Sussex as a whole, 1,599 people have tested positive for Covid-19. This is an increase of 123 since July 2.

The figures include positive results from tests carried out in NHS settings, such as labs and hospitals, as well as at home or at drive-through centres.
