Cases of Covid-19 are continuing to fall in all but two areas of Sussex.

For the week ending March 8, Public Health England figures show confirmed cases fell by 31 per cent across the county, falling by the same percentage in both East and West Sussex

A total of 487 new cases were recorded – 215 fewer than the week before.

Case numbers are rising in Lewes and Arun but have fallen significantly in some areas.

Only Arun, with an infection rate of 70 cases per 100,000 people, has a rate above the national average of 48.

These are the latest figures:

Chichester - 22 new cases - infection rate of 18 per 100,000 people

Arun - 112 new cases - infection rate of 70 per 100,000 people

Worthing - 48 new cases - infection rate of 43 per 100,000 people

Horsham - 23 new cases - infection rate of 16 per 100,000 people

Mid-Sussex - 35 new cases - infection rate of 23 per 100,000 people

Crawley - 47 new cases - infection rate of 42 per 100,000 people

Adur - seven new cases - infection rate of 11 per 100,000 people

Brighton and Hove - 86 new cases - infection rate of 30 per 100,000 people

Lewes - 34 new cases - infection rate of 33 per 100,000 people

Wealden - 22 new cases - infection rate of 14 per 100,000 people

Eastbourne - 14 new cases - infection rate of 13 per 100,000 people

Hastings - 28 new cases - infection rate of 30 per 100,000 people

Rother - nine new cases - infection rate of nine per 100,000 people
