Chichester has reported another eight Covid-19-related deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the latest government data.

Public Health England data shows a total of 109 have now died in Chichester within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test.

The area has reported another 554 cases in the past seven days, at a rate of 457.4 cases per 100,000 people. This is a slight decrease on last week’s infection rate of 506.9 per 100,000 people.

Chichester’s infection rate for the past week is the lowest in Sussex, according to the figures. Crawley, with the highest in Sussex, has an infection rate of 993.7 after 1,117 cases were reported in the past seven days.

– Adur - 410 cases in the past week at a rate of 637.6 per 100,000 people

– Arun - 980 cases in the past week at a rate of 609.6 per 100,000 people

– Chichester - 554 cases in the past week at a rate of 457.4 per 100,000 people

Mid Sussex - 724 cases in the past week at a rate of 479.4 per 100,000 people
